Zesty Cheesy Bread

This is an easy go-to crowd pleaser for your next party! It never fails that every scoop I make is enjoyed by my guests and gone before I even get one slice...



What Ingredients You Will Need:


  • If you are preparing this dish for a party, I would suggest doubling the recipe to have enough to go around, trust me you will run out quickly! :)

  • 1 Packet of Italian Dressing Mix ( you can find individual packets on the top shelf above the dressings in your grocery store - I like to use "Zesty Italian" for a flavor boost)

  • 1/2 Cup Mayonnaise ( I use light mayo and it doesn't affect the flavor)

  • 1/2 Cup Sour Cream ( I also use light sour cream and it doesn't alter the flavor at all)

  • 1/4 tsp Cajun Seasoning

  • 1/4 tsp Black Pepper

  • Baguette of French Bread

 

 

Directions to Deliciousness:


  1. Combine the Italian dressing seasoning, mayonnaise, sour cream, cajun seasoning, and black pepper all together in a bowl or container that is large enough and that has a lid for easy storage

  2. Cut your French bread into 1/4 inch slices and lay them out on a baking sheet

  3. Use the back side of a spoon to scoop the mix onto each slice of bread - be careful not to get too close to the edges because it will melt while cooking

  4. Once each slice is topped, turn your oven onto the broil setting (on low if an option) and place the baking sheet into the oven as soon as you start it so the bread can warm all the way through before browning

  5. Closely monitor the bread and turn the sheet under the broiler for consistent browning if necessary

  6. Best enjoyed as an appetizer and shared with your family and friends
