Smoky Pork Rub

Updated: Apr 21, 2020

Rubbing a pork loin or a pork shoulder with this rub creates the perfect flavor marriage when you smoke the meat! This rub blend always pairs deliciously with my homemade BBQ Sauce with a Kick!

What Ingredients You Will Need:

  • These measurements covered a 7 lb pork shoulder - for smaller cuts of meat, adjust the quantities accordingly

  • Pork Cut of your choosing (I prefer to make pulled pork for sandwiches so usually chose pork shoulder)

  • 1/4 Cup Apple Cider Vinegar

  • 1 Tbsp Fresh-Cracked Black Pepper

  • 1 Tbsp Seasoning Salt

  • 1 Tbsp Cajun Seasoning

  • 1 tsp Paprika

  • 1 tsp Chili Powder

  • 1 tsp Ground Mustard

Directions to Deliciousness:

  1. Place your pork into a large bowl

  2. Pat the meat dry with a paper towel before beginning the rub

  3. Once dry - Cover the meat with the apple cider vinegar - be sure to rub the vinegar all over to allow the spices to adhere

  4. Begin sprinkling each spice all over the pork and rub each in well before continuing on to the next

  5. Once the pork is thoroughly covered with apple cider vinegar, black pepper, seasoning salt, cajun seasoning, paprika, chili powder, and ground mustard it is all ready to be cooked slow and low to allow the flavors to soak in

  6. Best served with my homemade BBQ Sauce with a Kick on top of the finished product!
